Looking for some morning reading? Here’s the game preview for tonight’s Kings-Sharks contest, courtesy of NHL.com.
Also, word came down this morning that Phoenix defenseman Ed Jovanovski has been suspended for two games, meaning he will miss Thursday’s game against the Kings. Jovanovski “delivered a forearm to the head area of Minnesota’s Andrew Ebbett,” according to the league.
Finally, some of you might already have seen this, but Dan Cloutier’s AHL debut didn’t even last one game. Cloutier, signed by the Rockford IceHogs, got a match penalty after he apparently punched Manitoba’s Guillaume Desbiens with his blocker. Cloutier also got a one-game suspension.
Go! Clouts G- ….. eh … nevermind.

Atta boy Clouts, don’t take any crap from anybody
[Reply]
Gah that guy is an idiot.

The Beach Ball Strikes back.
Let’s give Clouts some credit here. Maybe he thought the puck was in Guillaume’s mouth and was simply trying to block it into the corner. Perfectly logical explanation. Clouts never gives up on a play, or what he THINKS is a play anyway.
Let’s not forget that he’s getting a million bucks this year to beat up AHLers. Tough gig. I’ll feel sorry for him when the Super 8 drops cable TV.
[Reply]
That’s funny! He should just give it up and retire with his millions of dollars. Poor guy.
[Reply]
Way to go Dan the man! Thank goodness he’s gone from the organization.
[Reply]
Dan who?
[Reply]
I wonder how much of that million goes to Crawford? 20%? 50%? Nice side deal.

Cloutier doing what he does best…and that doesn’t include stopping shots!
[Reply]
Haha that’s great

I think I saw Dan as a cab driver or janitor about 15 years ago. Maybe Reebok could do some commercials with Dan in them like the old Nike hockey commercials “I couldn’t stop ‘em”.

I have ONE prediction for the game tonight:
The video quality will stink due to the extremely old cameras in the HP Pavilion.
[Reply]

Word is Guillaume Desbiens’ parents own a Super 8 back in Quebec.

No Jovo tomorrow is very good news. Now we just need to worry about shutting down Doan and shutting up Bryzgalov.

Rich, what ultimately happened with the Cloutier arbitration? After the buyout, Cloutier challenged it claiming that he was injured and could not be bought out, and thus be paid his full contract. The NHL sided with the Kings and allowed the buyout to go forward, however, I had heard, I believe from you, pending binding arbirtation on the issue. I haven’t heard anything since and must assume he lost, but what can you find out on this? Thanks.
[Reply]
Maybe someone could Guillooly Doan for us.
[Reply]
PLEASE let there be video of Dan going nuts! Forget Ivanans and Westgarth, make that guy a 4th line FWD and set him loose!

We are paying him more than Ivanans (600k) and Westgarth (can’t be 400K) combined……
