kenneth once agin you resort to childish behavior, .... i know more about this team and sport than u ill ever know clown ....as for u others .... yes coming out to cut down the angle has its place and time but only when its a lone player situation not when the play is bogged down in your end and when 10 guys are in the zone ........ did u guys see the second goal last game? .... total freebie as usual by quick ... another empty net as quick is hopelessly out of position for a rebound or deflection ... look how far out he is when that goal is scored and how softly and easily the canuck player shot it into a wide open net ... u see thats what im talking about when all 10 guys are in the zone ....... when its a breakaway or some guy is flying down the wing and a defensemen is closing in on him and u know hes going to unload a slapper well fine u can ome on that too if you want as long as u know hes the only player .... but he comes too far out when 10 players are in the zone, giving up freebie goals into empty nets off rebounds, deflections off scrums , or bank shot off back dasher boards .... easy tap in freebies ..... and regarding some of u said its the defensemens fault .... look , the defensemen arent perfect, theres always going to be times in a game where someone come free , but its the job of the goalie to be aware of his surroundings and be the final line of defense .... quick coming so far out is making it too easy for other teams .... they dont even have to work for it ..... check out the second goal in the vancouver game and u should see what im talking about ........... quick has no business being that far out on a routine point with all 10 players in the zone

It's been said before, but obviously needs to be said again. This is the wrong time to bring in a goaltender. The time to bring in a goaltender is when the team is playing well defensively and the impression is not being made that the goaltender must "save the team." That's how you ruin a young goaltender.

Besides, Quick has obviously stepped it up a notch since he had a chance to work on his game (before Edmonton.)

I think the kings should consider trying bernier as backup and give him a real shot.

Clips, 52 is right - gotta come out. Quick let some in from the high slot but the majority of the bad goals came from turnovers in our zone where Quick didn't have a chance. Some of those turnovers by our superstar - JJ.

If the Kings don't make the playoffs this year (still 50/50), there should and will be some serious housecleaning at the top.

I'll be at the game tonight watching those hot Hawks wreak havoc on our boys who are in such a current state of confusion. Go Kings!

PS My God, what if the Kings ever got someone like Heatley!!??

Clippers, when the shooter is coming in on you, the move is to go out and cut the angle down, his only job is to take the shooter, if the forwrds or D miss the guy coming down the opposite wing or from behind the net that's their fault not the goaltenders. I would suggest you start watching what is going on around the goal rather then just watching Quick. And Marty Brodeur, I still see Stephen Mateau tucking the winner in that elimanated the Devils in the playoffs because Marty didn't cover the short side and he was DEEP in the net.

clippers of the nhl says:
did any of you ever stop to think that all these brillant saves he makes are many times when he is scrambling back …

clippers, maybe you're right, and maybe not. I don't know. But even if you are, again, he's still young and will start to figure it out himself... eventually if he sees he's being beaten by the same type of play over and over he'll start to adjust
The one area where I 'sort of' agree w you though is I remember them saying about JS Giguerre that he didn't make so many spectacular saves as he was very sound positionally so I'll give you that

darko25o says:
Don’t give up on Quick Kings fans!

I have to confess that when I saw him play last year (am in ny so don't get to see him that often) I had the same feeling. I just felt that this guy has something special. Also, Marc Andre Fleury was not so special his first two years. It took a while. The guys that turn into special goalies, how often do we hear about them in their first year or two? Brodeur? I don't know, I wasn't following him then, but there aren't many Brodeurs or Roys around.
