Here’s a catch-all update as lunch is being cooked…
– Brayden Schenn will play tonight, will wear No. 55 and will skate between Frolov and Brown. It’s a one-game deal and he will only stay longer if he signs an entry-level contract, which is still possible.
– Dean Lombardi said he didn’t consider Oscar Moller to be a strong option because the Kings now consider Moller’s future to be as a winger.
– Rob Scuderi and Jarret Stoll are both out for tonight’s game, leaving the Kings — other than Schenn — with the same lineup as last night.
– Doctors finally got Andrei Loktionov’s dislocated shoulder in place last night, and he was able to spend the night in an Edmonton hotel room.
– Jonathan Quick will start in goal tonight.

Well thats good news for Lokti… Hopefully he wont be out too long. Rich where are you going to eat Thanksgiving dinner?
[Reply]
Seriously , what is this teams fascination with debuting rookies and new traded in players for non-televised road games? I know it’s coincidence but sheesh!
[Reply]
Hopefully Loktionov is back soon and rehabilitates well so that he still has a chance to play some hockey for the Monarchs.
I would really like to see him given a chance next year in the Kings lineup as we really need some injection of speed and finesse but he really needs to bulk up for next years training camp.
Wish you all the best and a speedy recovery Lokti
To Schenn: This is your one chance to persuade the Kings to maybe keep you up for 8 games or so and possibly solidify a spot on next year’s team. If you have a good game or two Lombardi will consider putting you in at center. Stoll and Handzus as has been said ad nauseam aren’t really the best selection for the #2 center spot but is a 19 or 20 year old that much better?? This is for DL and Murray to figure out.

Frolov-Schenn-Brown actually looks really good on paper.
Rich, can you confirm whether this line player together during the preseason, I know Schenn played a lot with Brown and Clifford, but was Fro in the mix there at all?
[Reply]
Encouraging to hear that Loki spent the night at a hotel rather than hospital….
[Reply]
Sounds like an incentive for Braydon to go ahead and get this entry level contract done! Good work by DL.
[Reply]
Good Luck Braydon. BTW Daryl Evans coming up on NHL Power Play on NHL Network in a bit. Happy Thanksgiving to all! And, “you can get anything you want at Alice’s Restaurant”

Interesting thought about Moller. I guess DL has pretty much thrown in the towel with Oscar bulking up enough to be a strong center. I don’t have a problem with this at all and think he’d do rather well on either side. I like the fact that DL is defining his role NOW rather than when he’s in the NHL too long. Nice moves all around.
Glad to hear Lotki is at a hotel. Hopefully Rich you can get a timeframe for recovery soon.
[Reply]
Can someone post a recap of what Daryl says on the Power Play please.
[Reply]
Thanks for the update Rich. Maybe you could help with this question. Since a lot of us will not be working tomorrow, do you know if the Kings will be practiceing at the TSC tomrrow. It says they will on their wersite but after back to back in Canada I wonder. It would be good to know before some of us head down there tomorrow. Thank you.

QUISPY…
if u have a moment between salvaging cranberry sauce and doing other things to it…as my boys would say on pti…:
“that’s yr boy…moller!”
personally…i like the idea…and i think it was a long-time coming…i imagine he will be playing more right than left…
yr thoughts, q-man…?
[Reply]
last week i suggested to call up schenn and got a rashen of how he can’t play cuz he didn’t sign and is too young etc… HAH!
Daryl Evans didn’t talk about the PP
[Reply]
I know this is unlikely, but if Schenn does play well enough and contributes offensively, keeping him on the 2nd line, while placing stoll on the third, and handzus on the fourth would be pretty nice. Then, TM can really roll four lines, the fourth of which would look like this: Ivanans-Handzus-Segal. Richardson/Parse/Harrold can all rotate for all I care. It doesn’t look like Clune will crack the linup this season
Smyth-Kopi-JW
Fro-Schenn-Brown
Richardson/Parse/Harrold-Stoll-Simmonds
Ivanans-Handzus-Segal

KHANON…
i don’t think that we are going to have a $4mil per year fourth-line center…
i understand what yr saying…but playing zus only 10-14 minutes a game…on a team like this…i think is a mistake…he’s a quality player…clearly not worth the contract he got…but that’s a good thing for him (mistake by d.l.) and should not be held against him when evaluating his play…
having said that i like zus w/simmer and parse…richarson w/segal and harry and/or ivy…
when healthy, i like the following…:
smyth/kopi/brown
fro/stoll/brown
parse/zus/simmer
ivy and/or harry/richie/segal
[Reply]
I think the Kings coaching staff is happy w/Zues as the #3 center.I know I like him w/simmer they work well together.Whether you like it or not I think Richardson is our #4 center unless he’s injured.
[Reply]
sorry…
i clearly meant…
smyth/kopi/jw
when healthy…
tryptophan, anyone…(??)
[Reply]
Last yr. no one could stand Zues and thought he was useless.Where would we be this yr. w/out him.My point is guys like Harrold,Percell,Quick,so on and so forth. They are developing still.Having this what have you done for me lately attitude is not the reality of the NHL today.
[Reply]
Agree Variable on Zeus. Well put.
Dom, that was 2 years ago in his first year back after injury. Last year he was a stud.
[Reply]
Cynic…..Your right!
[Reply]
Variable,
You never know, if Schenn plays well, either handzus or Stoll will play on the fourth line. Like I said earlier, this scenario is unlikely, yet possible.

I read that the longer your shoulder is dislocated, the worse it can be. But, Loki is an athlete, and generally they heal faster, so let’s hope he gets well soon.
[Reply]
So might Loktionov be headed back to Manchester or what?
