Wayne Simmonds’ postgame thoughts…
(on the close victory…)
SIMMONDS: “We played a hard-fought game, defense first, and it was a 2-1 game until that empty-net goal. I think we battled hard down low and we tried to get to the net and create a lot of rebound opportunities.”
(on holding on before the third-period goal…)
SIMMONDS: “At one point, they bombarded us with shots, and we held in there strong. Quickie did well and I think we were defensively responsible and it came out right.”
(on his goal…)
SIMMONDS: “Just a little give-and-go play with Jonesy, and I just turned around. I was kind of skating backwards and I just fired at the net. I just saw a scuffle in front of the net and luckily it went in.”
Good game Simmer!!!!!
Kopi is feeling the coldness. It was a good run Kopi…Its not Thorton and Gabby’s turn to take the lead.

He’s right about the overall tempo and the win–I had a very weird confidence for a 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 game. There was never a time they made me think they didn’t have a great chance to win, and never a time I thought they were going to give up the lead. It reminded me of some of the better close games they played earlier in the season.
That’s probably what the practice opportunities did for them. They just weren’t running around much this game (and that’s why I was so furious the last couple games.)

Simmonds is the most underrated guy on the team, i cant believe a lot of people think he has no offensive skill and also that purcell is more deserving of a first line roll. WOW SOME PEOPLE ARE HIGH! this guy works hard and does everything asked of him, class act all the way. this guy needs to be in a first or second line offensive role
