Lewis' injury

To follow up on an earlier question, Trevor Lewis is considered “week to week” with an upper-body injury, according to Ian Clark of the Union-Leader. Last night, Manchester lost 2-1 in a shootout against Norfolk. Jonathan Bernier stopped 34 of 35 shots and Brandon Segal had the Monarchs’ only goal. Juraj Simek scored in the shootout for Norfolk. Is it really fair for Norfolk to also have a player named Juraj? Manchester hosts Albany on Friday night.

Pretty slick move by Norfolk. Having their own Juraj on the team probably countered the hockey scroing powers of the great Mikus… curses!!

Manchester has offensive issues. A lot of 1-1 games going to shootout. Their record can be attributed to strong D and Bernier/Zatkoff playing out of their minds.

Come on Rich… there are TWO Juraj Mikus’es (lol, that’s probably incorrectly typed.) in the AHL… Where have you been?

Could that possibly be the reason DL is visiting Manchester? He’s scouting the ‘other Juraj and trying to find a way to aquire him.

I’m gonna ask this again. I know this Mikus meme was on the old blog. But how did it originate

I have a great sense of humor, but have read that Mikus thread over and over and I don’t get the joke.

Be careful Dayman, this is a legend you’re talking about… when the “most interesting man in the world” dreams, he dreams of MeeeKoooosh!

The legend of Mikus was actaully started by a comment, can’t remember who it was, then everyone else kinda joined in.

Rather than describe injuries as either upper body or lower body, I would prefer the insect analogy and describe injuries as either head, thorax, or abdomen.

I think Rich actually started the Legend of Mikus and it has grown ever since. Unfortunately it drives some people nuts. Oh well.

It started before that thread, I think… my memmory isn’t the greatest, but I believe when Mikus’ arival to camp wasn’t anounced and everyone was wondering who the mystery man on the Ice was. That Mystery man was Mikus, or is it meekoosh?

Has anybody ever seen Rich and Mikus together at the same time? Hmmmm, just wondering….

Strangely, it started on the same thread that rich posted announcing Parse’s one year contract. And it was (of course) Quisp’s doubt that 2 Mikuses exist, which still has yet to be proven.

As far as Rich and Mikus together, well actually I have! During training camp… Mikus, by the way, did not leave skate marks on the ice. The guy floats, I swear!

    I should be clearer…

Geno originally asked Rich about Mikus and Quisp got it all going with saying he was the property of the Leafs… and a legend was born.

  17. RenoKingsFan says:

That’s right thanks wavesinair, so is there 2 Mikus’ or was he playing at two places at once, that’s the question.

The Mikus’ thread is BY FAR Cynic’s best moment!

Once he got started, his hair burned with a fire only the Legend Himself could put out…

He is left-handed. And right-handed. Even if he forgets to put postage on his mail, it gets there. He once knew a call was a wrong number, even though the person on the other end wouldn’t admit it. You can see his charisma from space. He’s a lover, not a fighter, but he’s also a fighter…He is Juraj Mikus.”

I hear Mikus is going to be the new LA Football team…you heard it right, he’s the team, and unlike the Patriot’s he won’t lose the perfect season in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl….he will also not miss a shift in Manchester while he does this.

You might want to check out the Dos Equis commercials featuring “the most interesting man in the world”. You might want to check out Ziggy Palffy’s recent stats in the Slovakian league and ask yourself who his linemates were. You might want to brush up on your history of the Central European porn industry and the related popularity of the “Koosh Wand” marital aid. You might want to listen to Carly Simon’s “The Spy Who Loved Me”. Or then again, you might want to ask Lombardi what he’s been smoking lately.

Either way, sucks for Lewis. NHL to AHL to IR. Bummer.

@ Chris Bond: I think the fans fighting over the stick makes a lot of sense. It’s unclear if the Ducks will ever win at home again for the rest of the season. Each stick given could be the last.

With regards to Mikus, legend has it that the Stanley Cup is actually his cup. No has been able to verify this but he frequently triggers metal detectors at airports when he’s flying to games as a passenger. The other games you ask? He’s the pilot.
