Scuderi out Monday

Rob Scuderi will miss Monday’s game due to his lower-body injury, Terry Murray said. Murray said x-rays were negative and that the Kings would take the injury “two days at a time.”

Murray said he intends to pair Drew Doughty with Randy Jones, Jack Johnson with Sean O’Donnell and Matt Greene with Davis Drewiske.

More from practice a bit later…

Ya Drewiske’s a solid guy, but the Doughty-Jones pairing is an interesting one

wasn’t to sure about 44DD but he has definitely shown he deserves the time here….Haven’t had this problem of too many decent D-men in a long time.LOVE THE KINGS

I guess TM wants a super charged offensive D pairing with Doughty and Jonesy! Interesting. Maybe Rich you can get a little info on this? I thought TM liked paring one stay-at-home with one jump-up guy? I could be remembering that wrong, but I figured TM would pair Davis with Doughty and Jonesy with Greene… again, interesting.

Looks like Jones has real value now? The pick up is perfect for this kind of situation.

Gotta give credit to Lombardi for anticipating possible season shortcomings and grab Jones while he was available instead of jerking guys back and fro Manchester and let them develop steadily.

I like the Jones acquisition, nothing blockbuster, just a good dependable guy that gives our D added depth without costing too much. And having the versatility of Harrold adds too.

    Chris Bond….Right on!

Again, DL pulls a rabbit out of his hat….Having a good, strong, experienced 7th defenseman in the wings helps keep the defense rested and keeps them going when the injuries start to happen. Randy Jones was an excellent pick up…..

    Go Kings!

    haha good one dMan

I would rather have 44DD paired up with DD as opposed to RJ. Two offensive defensemen shouldn’t be paired up with each other. but i guess TM would know better than me, considering the fact that I’ve only seen RJ play twice…

We picked up Jones just in time. Having alec martinez play early in the season exposed us to some depth issues at D.

I really didn’t understand the Drewiskie benching at all. Hindsight being 20/20, maybe it was better because JJ is used to logging more minutes, so it worked out?

Glad he’s back in. Don’t want to see him out again.

Send JJ down while you’re at it, and bring up one of the Manchester boys, i.e., Bagnall or Piskula

I don’t think there was any solid reasoning for 44DD’s healthy scratch. Someone had to sit and TM didn’t want OD missing 3 games in a row so, he sat 44DD since he has the least amount of experience. At least, that’s how I see it.
