Concentration, hmmm...

I like that! Think I'll use that, especially in my own life. That's very true, great advice for anyone!

BakoCA.... I love your thread. It's really good. So much is accurate there. I want to add one thing though. Say what you want about TM, but for me he hit the nail on the head. I used to feel that what held Jamie Storr back was poor concentration, and I've been learning that to do anything really well in life, it's not just talent but concentration. Are Crosby and Lidstrom talented? Incredibly so... but what separates those guys is the level of concentration. Not that I see them play all the time, but when I do you can see their concentration level is exceptional (and I'm personally not a great fan of Sid on a human level). But when one is fundamentally sound for the most part like Quick, the only reason you're not picking up the puck on long shots and having lapses is concentration. Concentration=Consistency (for the most part).

i mean just imagine if we had kopitar and gaborik on the same team ....wed be challenging for the cup this season.... forget about making the playoffs ... but the cup ............ also speaking of idiots running the kingdom, from lombardi to hextall to ranford to murray, noe of these clowns can spot the most simple fact as to why jonathan quick is so lousy this season .... forget about the occasion bad goal like last night to begosian.... those will happen occasionally and happen to every goalie.... but am i the only one who can see the obvious ...JONATHAN QUICK COMES TOO FAR OUT OF THE NET .... its fine to come out if u want when there is only one guy to stop... like in shootouts for example ... but this is the nhl... there are way too many empty net goals opponents get because quick is way too far out .... so when he comes out for a point shot or whatever like he does, if he gives up a rebound off to the side, or it hits the scrum of players in front of him and deflects to the side, THEN THE NET IS WIIIIIDE OPEN ..... i mean oppoents are getting tons of easy empty net goals this way .....I MEAN WHENS THE LAST TIME THE KINGS EVER GET EASY GOALS WHERE THEY ARE JUST HITTING THE PUCK INTO A COMPLETELY UNGUARDED NET ... answer never ... the kings have to work for every goal they get and beat the goalie, just like every other team does, except when they face quick and the kings ....... lots of easy noncontested goals when opponents play the kings ... just wide open nets with quick busy trying to scramble back and sometimes he dosent even bother trying to scramble back cuz its in the back of the net so fast all he can do is watch cuz hes busy CUTTING DOWN THE ANGLE 40 FEET OUT before the puck got deflected over to somebody else ....... stay in your flogging net like every other goalie you fool and you could be one of the best goalies in the league because u have the size and talent .... but because of this terrible practice, you are one of the worst goalies in the league jonathan ..... and finally, regarding the idiots running our kingdom and no accountability ....... isnt it obvious that ivannis is a complete waste of space.... i understand the need for an enforcer, but dont u have to posess at least some ability to play in the nhl.... watching this clown bumble and stumble around is painful ...... wasnt it obvious to everyione last year that when we called up enforcer westgarth last year during ivannis injury that westgarth was a million times better ..... obvious to everyone but the idiots running our kingdom that is ...... i mean westgarth has youth, some good speed, and some skill .... he gets involved in the game and actually gets some shots on goal and crashes the crease and creates havoc .... i mean sure westgarth would probably only score 5 to 10 if he played a full season, but isnt that 5 to 10 more than ivannis ....... and besides its not about the goals .... its just about not being a liability and actually contributing to the flow of the game every shift ....... i mean as it right the kings are basically killing a penalty whenever ivannis is out there... its 5 on 4 ......... poor teddy purcell and brad richardson, knowing there is no way to make an impression on a coach playing with that clown........like i said folks ...... idiots running the kingdom

patience ........ lol 40 some odd years of patience .... lol lol ..... no accountability .... terible organization ...... people in the front office come in and out and still none of them know what they are doing .... how else can u explain needing scoring desperately , promising to get a bonefide playmaker and scorer with all that money and doing absolutely nothing .... what idiots .... totally quiet on the big first day of free agency ......marion gaborik is the best free agent in the history in the nhl because of his skill, being a top ten player for sure and his AGE..... this isnt some washed up free agent like we have seen around the league in years past, gaborik easily has to be the best ever ... but of course lombardi thinks a run down old smyth is a better option ..... sure i like ryan smyth, but hes no gaborik .... and smyths age.... as each day passes from here on out in smyths career he will get worse and worse .... gaborik in his prime, and could have had him for basically the same price as smyth, only a lil more .......... lots of dummies running this organization folks

WWAMD, re stats-to-go:

not sure I want to make a habit of this, but...

Removing Quick's two best and worst games, his numbers are

	2.72GAA .899SV%

I'll do JLB in a few minutes...

Thanks, Quispie!

The point I was making on the last two threads is a question of direction and priorities. The statistics are convincing that currently, Quick is a liability. Yet, the team record is fairly good. If we were the Red Wings, a goaltending change would be the general outcry, because of the expectations.

Personally, I feel we should be patient with Quick, BUT it should be clear that patience could cost us the playoffs this year, and I can wait... only one more season. We make the playoffs this year--okay, a great season. But the playoffs must be made next year. The reason for my patience is the experience factor. We are NOT the CHI Blackhawks, folks. All of our outstanding talent has NOT yet made the lineup. We finally have a first-class top line, a dangerous checking line, a top first and second pairing for defense. The roles of our young players are becoming clear. But, team speed is still lacking, depth is lacking and game experience is lacking.

The Atlanta game highlighted what has happened frequently this year. What do the Kings do when another goaltender frustrates their best efforts? Can they persevere when they outshoot someone 15-2 but don't score? Can the goaltender keep his cool when things get hot, keeping us in the game? Can the goaltender make the big save to preserve the win?

The current Kings team is still unsure.

	Patience, folks--PATIENCE!
