I’m going to come right out and say that watching Doughnuts play last season is what gave me hope that the Kings are turning it around. Even at 19(!) his presence is incredible.

Doughty is great, Jones is great, veteran Scuderi is great…Johnson has to step it up a bit

we got an awesome defense line up if they are all playing their A-game continuously

Doughty has the potential to be the best D-Man in the NHL. I don’t think he’s played great hockey this year. His play tailed off at the end of last season and seemed to carry over into this year. He has played better lately. He is still making too many poor passes in the defensive end and at times his power play performance is too predictible. As he matures he should become a great hockey player which he is not at this point. His development is one of the two or three absolute keys to the Kings future. It will be a pleasure to watch him grow!

@I’mJustSaying — I’m pretty sure Legace was caught napping when he was playing for the Blues, and he had a nasty argument with the GM over it, which is why he’s not playing there any more. Think it was a TV interview, and IIRC, he claims to have owned up to screwing it up on both counts.

Well written as always Rich. I am amazed at how well Doughnuts game has come together and how strong he is on the puck. As Jim Fox keeps saying, “He is only 19.” I figure it will be in two to three years and when people speak of the Norris Trophy, Doughnuts name will come up as well.

I have to agree whole heartedly with “I’m Just Saying” on the Kings have to make the playoffs. If they are not in the playoffs this year, then there is something terribly wrong with the team. However, right now the team is playing very well. Everyone seems to be contributing on a consistant basis, with some exceptions on a few games. When you look at the standings, I am reminded of a comment I made to a friend of mine, which was simply this. “The first game of the season and every game after that, is a playoff race with so much talent in the NHL.” So, lets sit back and enjoy the ride, and at the end of the ride, hopefully it will be the end of April and playoff time for the Kings.

Loved the story of Legace taking a nap during an AHL game recently. Anyway of having him teach the balance of goalies we play the rest of the season? It would be nice if they just took quick cat naps for say 40 -50 seconds a period.
