Dads go undefeated

The Kings’ first-ever “dads week” seemed to be a big success for the team, both on and off the ice. Beyond the fact that fathers and sons got to spend time together, the dads got to witness two Kings victories. Based on that, Terry Murray joked that that “I was thinking about talking to Dean (Lombardi) about just keeping everybody around for the rest of the year.”

MURRAY: “It was a nice event for a couple games, there’s no doubt. With the fathers coming in, it’s special for the players to go out and play in front of their family. If it becomes an annual event, I think that would be a great thing for the players and for the team.”

Hey Rich. Just curious…How did the kings pick whose dad’s would be invited?

I know there was a lot of coverage from the Kings on the Dads being in town and the players getting to play in front of their families, but just out of curiosity, all together, who’s fathers came to the games? Can anyone give a list of the dad’s that attended the games?

I do think it was a great thing and should become an annual thing for the team and the players.

Pretty sure they invited all the Dads. Some just couldn’t make it.

They should keep the dads in town until they lose. A little added incentive. Let’s see how long they can keep them around.

If a dad has to go home for work or whatnot so be it. If a dad who was unable to make it earlier gets some free time, the Kings bring him into town.

Hockey “G”, I know Purcell, Greene, and Johnson’s dads were there. I want to say Kopitar and Brown’s dad also made it. Those are all I remember.

It was great that the dads got to see this comeback victory at Staples with a sell out crowd full of electricity especially after visiting the masoleum in Phoenix.

What about Bill Parse, Scott’s parents from Portage, MI? If Bill was there, so was Judy. Let me know!

Totally cool move by the Kings! Bringing the dads in for a short road trip and then a home game….It’s hard to tell just what kind of an effect it had on the team but from what it sounds like, this move was certainly positive, plus they beat the Pens in front of a sellout Staples…..

Pinch me….does it get any better than this?? 10-4-2???

    Go Kings!

It’s amusing that other teams are now doing the “dad thing”. The Blackhawks now have their dads traveling with the team.
