dMan,

Although the word "sucked" may have been a bit harsh, I got that from watching 70-75 games last year. Maybe I should have said, "he just wasn't very good." If you take all the positives I mentioned above and reverse them, you'd have Kopi's performance last year. I don't think many people would argue that, though he did start improving late in the year. Not good enough from a individual who has all the tools needed to be successful and who is looked upon to be a difference maker. This isn't a personal attack against you or Kopitar for that matter, it's just what I witnessed the majority of the year. I just wrote 200 words of praise for Kopitar this year but you chose to comment on the one comment I made about last year, that's interesting to me...

Mudfish

I think the reason people are hard on JJ is because of the advanced hype.
He was supposed to be what DD is. It's completely unfair because DD is an absolute freak, but unfortunately, that's the reality of the situation.

JJ is nowhere near what he will become. His talent is obvious. It's just taking a normal amount of time for him to blossom. Normal is not what Doughty is. Doughty is in the class of Leetch and Bourque right now.

RE: Cynic

I thought JJ looked fine. Solid defensively. Great breakout passes...everytime. Would like to see him use his hands/speed more to rush it up, esp on PP's but it seems like the coaching staff doesn't want him to. Maybe they want him to focus on his D more right now? Not sure. Maybe a question for Rich to ask?

Scuds was actually at fault on the 2nd goal for letting his check go which allowed Orpik to get the shot off that Kunitz tipped. Not knocking him...just if you're going to knock JJ and praise Scuds, you might want to look closer.

I'm not sure why there are so many JJ haters. He's been solid this season. Just not putting up the offensive numbers yet. But again, that could go back to what the coaches are asking of him.

Seemed to me like Fleury folded under the pressure in the third period, right when Quicker hit his stride. As a Kings fan who in past years saw way too many other teams' goaltenders standing on their heads, it felt good.

If it hasn't been mentioned already. The replay on FSW starts at noon. Set your dvr's, if you didn't last night.

	An instant classic.

	Go Kings!

@ griddle - I checked the schedule at the beginning of the year, and rejoiced (as a DirecTV NHL Center Ice subscriber) that there were no games on "the VS Network." Well, they bought Monday night out from under us. Just ain't right.

dMan...I'm with Duckhunter, although I don't know if I would use the words sucked last year.

I was extremely critical of Kopitar last year as well...many of us were.

Reason being...we all could see what his true potential is. But the fact that he wasn't playing up to that potential, was timid, was clearly out of shape, etc. caused many of us to call him out (including Lombardi and his coaching staff).

I think he is proving to us all just what he can do. The best part is...it's only beginning. He can get better.
