Monday morning skate

Based on circumstantial evidence, it seems as though Jason LaBarbera might get the start in goal tonight for Phoenix. The starting goalie is typically the first one off the ice after a morning skate, and today that was LaBarbera. But no confirmation on that.

For the Kings, they’re expected to skate as they have in practice, with Justin Williams returning from his five-game absence due to his “lower-body injury.” Williams stopped short of saying he was 100 percent but said he was ready to return.

WILLIAMS: “Well, nobody is 100 percent in here. It’s good enough to play the game of hockey tomorrow. I feel good. I’m excited. I only missed seven days but I missed five games. It was tough. That was frustrating, to miss a lot of games. It sucks when you’re out and the team’s not doing well, because maybe you push yourself before you’re ready. I was able to get myself ready. I had two good practices under me.”

Asked about rejoining the top line, Williams joked, “Well, Kopi is in a little slump now. It’s been two games. We can’t have that, so I told him we’d get him going.”
