And now it’s a game again. Ed Jovanovski made a nice pass to Shane Doan, who split two defenders, beat Jack Johnson to the net and gave the puck a little push past Jonathan Quick, who appeared to be trying to poke the puck away. The goal came with 7:30 remaining in the third period.

Wayne Simmonds, alert in front of the Phoenix net, picked up a loose puck and beat Bryzgalov 9:12 into the third period. Anze Kopitar cycled — and picked up his third assist of the night — and Sean O’Donnell sent to the puck to the net, where Simmonds pounced on it for his fourth goal [...]

Scott Parse gets his first NHL point, and Jarret Stoll gets his second goal of the game. Parse came down the right side on a 2-on-1, faked the shot a bit and then passed across to Stoll, who cut to the front of the net and tucked the puck behind Bryzgalov 2:16 into the third [...]

The Coyotes are outshooting the Kings 24-12…

The lead didn’t last long, as the Coyotes tied the game 1:18 after the Kings took the lead. Jarret Stoll’s clearing attempt failed, the Coyotes kept the puck in the zone and Radim Vrbata took a nice pass down low and sent the puck over a diving Jonathan Quick.

The Coyotes’ run of penalties finally hurt them, as the Kings scored a 5-on-3 goal. Anze Kopitar made another nice pass, this one from the right circle, to Jarret Stoll, whose one-timer from the top of the left circle beat Bryzgalov with 5:36 left in the second period. Drew Doughty also got an assist.

Anze Kopitar doesn’t just have the scoring touch this season… With the Kings on the power play, he did an excellent job of driving to the net, then fed an even better pass across the crease to Dustin Brown, who basically just had to tip the puck into the net. Ryan Smyth also got an [...]
