Waiting to talk to Sharks coach Todd McLellan, and for the start of the Kings’ morning skate. It seems that the Sharks will be without injured Devin Setoguchi and Ryan Vesce, in addition to previously injured Joe Pavelski and Torrey Mitchell. The Sharks are coming off a 4-2 road trip…
Well that will definitely help. Clowe has been playing bad too, so as long as we can shut down Heatley/Thorton, Kings win.

It’s Ryan Vesce Rich, I know it’s early no worries

i think you have to put ivanans in the line up tonight…
with the sharks lacking some key members/speed, this would be a good situation to play him…that is, if he’s feeling like bob probert rather than ryan flinn…

It also looks like the Canucks are going to be without Luongo!!
[Reply]
josh,
You beat me to it! Raycroft is going to play thursday, so two games in a row with teams missing a key piece.
[Reply]
I was just gonna post that about Luongo too Josh.lol

How about the fact that the game is going to be nationally televised on the NHL network!? Time for the Kings to make an impression. =)

Squish the fish.

a tale of two stats…:
- going into tonight’s game, the kings rank 23rd in shots on goal w/a 27.8 per game avg…
we also rank 2nd in team scoring with 44, second only to the rangers…
hmmm….i hope that we increase our s.o.g. while maintaining good scoring opportunities…regardless, i think they all need to be shooting more…
- the kings also have the worst penalty against differential in the nhl with a -36…and our 72% pk ranks third from the bottom…
this is not a good combo to have and coincides with the kings late-game struggles staying out of the box (for whatever reasons) and killing penalties and keeping leads…
having great offense is one thing, but the defense is struggling a bit…i’m not looking for any “whipping boys” here…i think collectively, the team has responded well since…well…fro-gate…
if they can turn these stats around…watch out…!…this team gets that much more better…

Good point TB. Thank you NHL Network. We also get a game on VS. Nov 9 against Chicago. I just hope that one isn’t blacked out (and sorry directv people, guess you may have to miss that one).

The Heatley/Thornton line is scary everytime it’s on the ice. Hopefully, the Kings will continue to fire on all cylinders and strike fear in the heart of the Sharks. Let the buzz saw continue.

I imagine our PK stats are much better if we throw out the first two(?) games, and the result would be a truer measure of the Kings’ current performance.
[Reply]
Ya, I have DTV and I’m going to miss the VS. game. I guess I’ll just have to go to the game. ; )
[Reply]
Umm..remember what happened the last time the Kings played another team that was shorthanded! (The Red Wings??)..They just better play hard and not worry about who’s playing for the other team.
[Reply]
Looks like dropping games 1-2 only puts the pk at 79%. The pk is 57% at home but 80% on the road. Not pretty any way you look at it.
[Reply]
But we did beat up a dallas team missing richards, lehtinen and ott.
[Reply]
No Setoguchi…what a disappointment!
[Reply]
Setoguchi is a whiny little bitch. I can’t stand that smug little pissant. Another Cheechoo, living off of Thornton’s/Marleau’s feeds.
I’m sorry, are we not allowed to swear on here? :/
