Murray postgame quotes

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

(on his game thoughts…)
MURRAY: “It was a very even game. We played very well in the first period. I thought we held a little bit of an edge in the first. They came back with a strong second and did the same to us as we did in the first. In the third, I thought both teams had a couple opportunities.”

(on being satisfied with one point or not…)
MURRAY: “Satisfied? Well, you always want to win. You want to get two points every chance you get. This is a premier team in the league. This is probably the best team in the league, so when you do come in and play well, you’re going away with a lot of encouragement. You’re talking about the positive stuff that you did, when addressing the team. But there was an opportunity there to win it tonight.”

(on how the Kings now measure up to the Sharks…)
MURRAY: “I don’t use it as a measuring stick. I don’t use any particular game as a measuring stick. We know this is the best team in the league. They showed that last year. They’ve got an incredible amount of talent. They can dominate with that line. That Thornton line dominates any line, any game that they want to go out and do it. But I don’t use any one of these games and try to see how far we’ve come or where we are. I don’t believe in that.”

(on the game having a playoff intensity…)
MURRAY: “Yeah, there was good intensity there. They had a great a great road trip, and after six games, coming back they had a lot of conversation, I’m sure, about the importance of coming out and playing hard, in the right way, in the early part of the game. I think they showed their game, in the second period especially. THey make a lot of things happen with their D jumping up in the play. So we’ll take the point here tonight, I guess.”

(on Quick’s game)
MURRAY: “I thought Quick did a really good job here tonight. Again, the second period especially, because there’s so much action around the net, a lot of big bodies and defensemen being active from the blue line. There’s a lot of things that he has to read right away. So it was a real good game by him.”
