Williams out Wednesday

Notes and quotes from the locker room to come, but first, Terry Murray said after the game that Justin Williams will not play on Wednesday at San Jose, which once again pushes back the estimate for Williams’ return. Lots of stuff to come, including some reaction to Rob Scuderi’s hit on Jason Chimera.

It’s either a minor injury as they say and they don’t want to rush him since the team is playing great OR it is more serious than they are letting on…I am rooting for the former, not the latter.

Sweet good news! Take your time Williams….Take your time!

From William’s attitude after the game, it’s probably just precautionary to keep him off for a little while longer. I’m waiting to see what TM does with the situation of Williams and Simmonds once JW comes back. I’m betting JW goes back on the first, and Simmonds’ experience on the first line translates to good things for secondary scoring.

Having JW back will only make the team better!

I bet he’s seriously injured but the management doesn’t want to make it seem like a big deal cuz the guy is so injury prone

Yes WWAMD, Williams should take his time. I don’t care how good Simmonds has done on the first line as a sub. The last thing this team needs right now when everything is going great is another point a game player who brings character, finesse, and speed.

The good news is more time for Simmer on the first line.

Anybody else think we won’t see Williams back until Thanksgiving? The Glass Man just cannot stay healthy. It’s a shame.

It’s a serious injury. Bank on that.

LOL I wonder if it is a serious injury, and Dean is covering it up so fans like myself don’t pop up and scream “I told you so!”. If this is a serious injury I think Dean should allow fans to have a say in trades lol cause so far it seems like we are always right! Well at least me and anthony are :p

But the Smyth trade makes up for the Williams mishap. I never commented on the Smyth trade because I wasn’t to sure about it. So I kept my mouth shut and low and behold it has done wonders for the Kings, at the same time Quiency is off doing his thing for Colorado. Both teams got better! So far trade. We got what we needed and they got what they needed and Smyth got what he needed a change of scenery. Good all around…so far!

Sorry, but I gotta call a spade a spade.

Justin Williams is a BAD interview.

“Uhhh, I really don’t want to comment on the hit”

Then the very next words he utters describe the hit.

There is something very odd about JW. Noticed it since he has come here. I feel like he still can’t believe he was traded or something. I mean, he’s playing OK on the ice, but I remember he had a pretty disappointed look on his face in his first interview as a King. It burned into my memory. Just some hurt feelings I think. Call me crazy, but I still see it. Maybe I just don’t know the guy or haven’t heard him speak enough to comment, but he just seems aloof.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he’s here and IMHO he is an upgrade from Sully, it’s just something I noticed. And he is right to worry about getting his spot back. Simmonds has been STELLAR in his absence.

With Parse playing so well, and I’m rootin’ for him, he has been GREAT to watch, I would like to see Parse-Stoll-Williams when Willie comes back. Purcell is not cutting it. Purcell might be better with Richardson and Harrold on the 4th line. He could add some hands to their speed.

    Smyth-Kopi-Simmonds
    Frolov-Zeus-Brown
    Parse-Stoll-Williams
    Purcell-Richardson-Harrold (Ivanans)

Those look like they could be 4 solid lines.

    Cynic,

I like your lineup. Also, you should check out an old Kingsvision video from before the start of the season. It was shot at practice and focuses on Williams, who’s being totally outgoing and cheering on this teammates, and even looks like he’s having a really good time.

He’s not my favorite player or anything, but when I post and defend the guy it’s because he’s got one of the bigger microscopes on him by the fans and can get more heat than maybe he deserves. And I really do think he’s played better than just OK on the ice.

Maybe what it all comes down to is I really want the guy to do well. Sully was my favorite player when he was with the kings so I’m really rooting for Williams to do good things.

    Hey Cricket-

Link me to that, would ya, I can’t seem to find it. I’d like to see it.

Must be just me then. Like I said, I’m glad he’s here. Just a feeling I have I guess. Maybe it’s heartburn. ;-)

I’m on the “he’s hurt worse than they say” side of the fence. I liked Sully. Thought it was a bad trade then. Still do. Williams can’t make it through a season.

Parse is playing better than Williams. Who thinks Williams is going to succeed in Los Angeles? I don’t. Didn’t anybody hear or read how Williams struggled in the same exactly system when he played in Philadelphia? Horrible trade by Dean Lombardi! We lost our second line center in O’Sullivan for Williams!!!

You guys are horrible, Until there is a clear report as to what the injury is stop assuming things.

The Kings are 2nd in the Conference right about now and won a good bit of games with Williams in the line up. Every game is agains a different opponet and you never know what would have happend if he was playing on the 1st line instead of Simmonds the last few games— maybe a few more goals would have been scored… None of you are fortune tellers…

I’m sorry but I have to defend the guy, he is an absolute class act no matter what team he plays for. He has been that way for years. As far as Cynic talking about his interview…. You are crazy, Justin has a very laid back soft spoken personality when it comes to interviewing that is what makes him approachable. Besides he had no clue the trade was happening until I beleive 15 minutes after the deadline then left his wife and “newborn” baby behind a flew across the country with a 3 hour time difference to do your precious interview. I’m so sorry if he didn’t seem so wide eyed and bushy tailed and overly excited for you.

I would like to throw you on a plane last minute with no preperations and fly you across the country and put you agains a 3 hour time difference and see how cheery you are!!!!!

Some people are just idiots!!!!! I think Justin has played a great game this year with the Kings, he had a wonderful start which has only helped the benefited the Kings. 1st place in the division, second in the conference what do you people want. Do you seriously think the man wants to be hurt. You are all blogging that you want him to be traded!!

Guess what, so do I!!!!!!!! Maybe he will be traded to a classier fan base!!!! What do you people want from him???? his blood????
