Kopitar postgame quotes

(on tonight’s secondary scoring, from Frolov, Stoll and Handzus…)

KOPITAR: “It’s always great to see. Sometimes two goals is not enough from the first line, and everybody else contributed right in and it was really nice to see. If you want to be a consistent team, you need that secondary scoring too, for sure, and it was a big part of this game for sure.”

(on his line’s great recent play…)

KOPITAR: “It’s a special feeling that you almost can’t describe. You know, when you go on the ice, that things are going to happen, instead of just hoping that things are going to happen. We’re making plays, and that’s part of the growth that Dean is always talking about and Terry is always talking about, when you know you’re going to come out and outplay the guy across from you. That’s a huge part of growing, a huge part of being a playoff team and right now, we’re showing it and playing with a lot of confidence.”

(on whether the Kings ever felt that confidence last season…)

KOPITAR: “There were stretches that come, but obviously you have to stay consistent. I think, throughout these 12 games, everybody has been consistent and playing with a lot of confidence, a lot of energy all the time, a lot of passion, which is great. It’s really nice to see.”

Confidence has been huge this year, but more importantly, keeping up the confidence and pressure when things aren’t exactly going your way. After the three losses in a row, the Kings have answered with an even bigger winning streak. With more secondary scoring stepping in, let’s hope we see the confidence rise, even in the face of adversity. We saw that working in todays game after Columbus pushed back after the Scuderi hit on Chimera. We weathered the storm and ended up scoring to make it 3-0. This is the attitude the Kings need to keep up now.

Dean interview! :P I beg you Rich, that second quote from Kopitar is a perfect thing to show Lombardi and ask what he thinks. Also, what he thinks of Kopitar’s start after being called out in the offseason, and Frolov’s reaction since his benching. I will love you even if you don’t do it though :) Thanks for everything Rich, this has been great and I am thrilled at the job you have been doing so far. Kopitar is a god by the way.

Anyone else pleasantly surprised with Scott Parse? Looks like everything we wanted Trevor Lewis to be… hopefully he keeps it up.

Great win! As of right now quick has not been tested, and our offense has been winning us the games. We still have yet to see quick stand on his head and win us a game when our offense is not there. He still needs to prove that he is a legit number one golie.
I too feel like parse will be a good player. I feel like our line up should be as follow’s when williams comes back:
    smyth-kopi-simms
    parse-stoll-williams
    fro-zues-brown
    ivanans/harry-richardson-purcell
Lets keep this momentum going fellas. Great game! Go kings!!

Lookslike Lewis is manchester bound! Parse looks like a keeper. Clune gets the call after rehab.

When Lombardi called out Kopi for being out of shape last season, I thought the comments might backfire. Instead, it has worked out perfectly. Anze is now playing hard at both ends of the ice, and he is doing everything at top speed just like in his first two seasons.

    Welcome back Kopi!

PANCAKES is rapidly becoming MANCAKES! Look at the confidence spreading. This all started with Smyth, now Kopi, now Brown and Stoll are bringin it. Frolov tonight, it’s great to see. Confidence has entered the building and taken a seat in the locker room. When this team turns it on, they don’t just control play, they DOMINATE. We haven’t seen this for a long time.

    It’s sweet.
