Kings 6, Columbus 2

Alexander Frolov scored his second goal of the game, on the power play. Steve Mason saved Drew Doughty’s shot, but Frolov got the rebound and tossed a backhand shot at the net, through traffic and from a tough angle, that somehow squeezed past Mason at the near post with 2:02 remaining.

Nice placement on a moving goalie. It may not have been completely intentional, but I’m sure his experience helped him place it where he did. Two timely goals that assure the Kings the victory tonight. Frolov = clutch.

Great game by everyone. They hopefully keep this up and build confidence!

    We destroyed them.

    Go Kings!

I like the offensive minded Fro instead of the checking line Fro. Dustin Brown makes a HUGE difference on that line. When Simmonds was playing with them, there wasn’t enough puck between the 3 of them. Now, we have proper balance throughout the lineup.

    Kick ass, boys.

Fro got no love in the three stars of the game, thought he deserved 3rd star atleast

  11. Shakes says:

If Helene Elliot of the LA Times is right then the Kings will bench Fro in the next game to keep his re-signing value lower. Clearly that was the reason he was benched before. Every time he does well it just hurts the team…

Great to have David Courtney back… doesn’t quite seem like a home game without him.

Nothing more depressing to see how our culture has deteriorated than to see all those shmucks jumping behind Patrick Oneal just to get on camera.

Not sure the new outside studio’s gonna work guys!

Oh yeah … GREAT WIN! WEW HEW!!

Ya right, lets get rid of him!

You don’t usually get a top 3 star of the game when the two goals you score make it 5-2 and 6-2 with, like 10 min left in the 3rd.

    Good job Kings!

Missed most of the game, watched the 2 Fro goals though. Good job Fro!

Also who was on the topline today?

    Kopitar with 2 goals…NICE!

Thats 8pts for Kopi in the last 3 games. He’s becoming a MONSTER!

Wow, seems like Terry Murray might actually be doing some things right. I saw Ivanans on the PP though.. :s

  19. RenoKingsFan says:

I think Ivanans was on the PP at the end to keep Columbus from going after one of players. Retribution for the scuderi hit

What do they do now with Williams when he gets healthy? Too many Kings playing with confidence. You can’t send down Parse when Williams gets back. I also can’t see TM taking Simmonds off that top line.

It feels like Lewis is the odd man out back to Manchester.

    Kopitar is possessed!

AK47, Raitis was only out on the PP when the game was well in hand and Murray didn’t want any of the Jackets taking liberties on any of the boys with the outcome decided. Chimera gave Fro a punch, I’m sure they wanted that to be the end of it so Raitis was out there policing.

They are just trying to copy the setup they used(use?) for the Lakers, with the glass behind the guys to see the fans coming out of Staples. Gives the appearance that the fans are very enthusiastic ;-)

    re: Ivan on the PP
Keep in mind the game was well in control at that point, and it was the second night of a back to back, he was just trying to spread some ice time, and reward the checkers with some PP time, cant really blame him in that situation.

Purcell to me seems like the odd man out. He’s had top two line minutes all season and isn’t having an impact.

Parse came in and he’s playing great right now. I hope he gets more time.

Luuc – Makes you wonder why they don’t just use the studio that was built INSIDE staples with all the glass in the corner.

Probly cost too much in rent … but I gotta say .. Justin Williams couldn’t hear himself think during his interview … and when Luc had his interview… i could barely understand him with all the doofs in the background yelling llluuuuccc!!

I love the idea don’t get me wrong .. it’s the … well … humanity that i don’t like seeing … I’m always waiting for the retard with the middle finger…. or the guy with cell phone in one hand and waving in the other “huh! huh!! YEAAH! DUUDDE!! IIM ON NOOWW!! BURP!!”
