HORRIBLE goaltending on all 4 goals.
This one is totally on Quick.

Glad the Kings won, but they gave Dallas a point tonight.

against a team playing back to back and 3 games in 4 nights….the Kings were soft in the third period…Where was a time out and some coaching as in…pressure Dallas(they are on a back to back)

Rich…that was subtle…why is Bernier’s GAA relevant again?

    Go Zeus!

I still think Bernier will be called up this season. he only played half a season in manchester last yr so maybe 20 more games under his bealt in the AHL and then the big call? Also, this might be a contract yr for Quick. if so he aint makin a point BUT i dont mind at all cause BERNIER will finally solve that position! been a long time since the Rogie days

It’s becoming obvious that Bernier is the future of this team. I don’t think Quick is going to take us over the hump…servicable goalie for now.

Rich, with all due respect, please don’t feed these guys who are quick (no pun intended) to blame the goaltending. This isn’t Cloutier or Cechmanek. While the second goal was soft, the end result is what matters. Grant Fuhr used to let in a ton of softies in Edmonton in the 80′s, but when it came down to not letting in the backbreaker, he was money. Let’s start questioning Quick once he’s losing games for us. Everyone needs a little bailout from Zues from time to time :)

I agree with Action, though there was more than just one soft goal tonight in my opinion…. BUT he also made some great saves, don’t forget that, people!

Also, I think the bigger issue is teaching these kids to keep the gas pedal floored when they get up a couple goals. People forget quickly about back to back 2-1 wins on the road where Johnny Q was stellar.

Bernier is a more fundamentally sound goaltender than Quick, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get a shot sometime this season

Rich… I’m with action… No need to fuel the fire. I read that and thought padding the stats. To say your coverage is anything but a dream come true would be an understatement. Thank for all that you do, but I think anthony should start these “action” emails.

AHL doesn’t always translate to NHL.

Not saying that’s the case with Bernier, but tossing Bernier’s numbers in from something that isn’t directly comparable is a little unfair, don’t you think?

sorry peeps BUT Quick reminds me of Labarbera. makes sum nice saves but lets in softies. big n strong sum nights. sleeping other nights. there is more stress (mentally) on being a #1 goaltender and thats why TM clearly made quick #1 before camp even started. to test him mentally and see the response. up to now he hasnt fit the bill. will see by xmas. either way KOPISTAR was great tonight. i see him hit 50 goals this yr. GO KINGS GO!

    HA @ Johnny.

Labs and Quick are night and Day…but…..I did notice Quick was WAY far out in net tonight…which leads to out of position, which is deja vu of Labs here in LA. Can the problem be another one of “Dean’s Boys”. Can Hextall be shaping these goalies into failures…If so I’m scared what kind of mold he’ll make Bernier….Man I never thought of this…Hope I”m wrong

  22. Blake says:

johnny he plays absolutely nothing like labarbra and he didnt have a garbage season and he did great last year so if we did trade him everyone would regret it. Don’t ever try to compare quick to labby again

  23. johnny says:

blake. quick wasnt #1 last season. yes he played just about all the 2nd half and was great! BUT he didnt have that MENTAL stress. this yr he was told and made the #1 guy and its stressing him MENTALLY. p.s i never said to trade him

    [Reply]

  24. Blake says:

well if we didnt want him to be our number one guy and he went down in the depth chart we would eventually trade him and again hes had as many great games as he has fairly bad ones. the trick for a goalie is almost play unconscious and dont think about anything else but the moment your in which i think he’ll eventually do i think give him the first half of the season to see how he does and if were still winning…

hmmm… a little pointed by throwing that Bernier comment in.

I don’t think we’ll be seeing Bernier this season. Frankly, i hope we don’t. Quick, who is certainly the best we’ve had since Potvin, can manage for now. I want Bernier to develop as much as possible; I’ve waited too long for a good goalie, and i don’t want this chance to be screwed up.

Since this will get lost in the shuffle – should have signed a vet to a 1 year contract to help Quick. EE wasn’t/isn’t needed.

If Manchester played a full roster of NHL snipers, his GAA might be meaningful.
