Martinez update

You might remember Alec Martinez. Rookie defenseman…played a game about two weeks ago…hasn’t been seen since… Today, Terry Murray finally disclosed what is ailing Martinez. It’s an ankle sprain of the severe variety, and Martinez still has not returned to the ice. Martinez suffered the injury during a post-practice drill when he apparently slipped and hit the boards hard. No timetable has been set for Martinez’s return.

    thanks for the update. man, what a nightmare start to martinez’s NHL start (bad debut, replaced, then injured). I hope he has a quick recovery and rebounds from this …

    Why isn’t Martinez on IR? Also, why did we send Moller back to Manchester? Am I missing someone or are we only carrying 22 players right now?

    If Martinez hangs around in this ‘status’ (whatever it is) for 10 games do they have to pay him an NHL contract?

    No, Martinez isn’t an underage Junior player. He can go up and down to Manchester just like Moller.
