Monarchs fall to Springfield

Is there any Kings-affiliated goalie who hasn’t had a tough week? Jonathan Bernier stopped 29 of 32 shots and took his first loss of the season Friday as the Manchester Monarchs fell to the Springfield Falcons, 4-1. Springfield scored an empty-net goal with 1:22 to play. Oscar Moller scored the goal for the Monarchs, his third goal in five games this season. Scott Parse and Viatcheslav Voynov had assists. Rich Clune did not play. He is still considered day to day because of his pulled groin. Clune didn’t seriously reinjure the groin when he played last week, but he felt a little twinge. Clune had been cleared in all previous on- and off-ice workouts.

Rich, followed your Blog everyday before the jump to LA Kings, now it’s even better. How amazing that you are travling with the team. Just now I was wondering what was happening with Rich Clune, and I log on, you have an update – awesome!

Last nights game was a total breakdown of offense and defense – they left Bernier hanging out there. Three Springfield goals in 57 seconds. Had bad flashbacks of last years forgetable team.

Hopefully the M’s will turn it around for tonights season opener at The Verizon.

Yeah, i was at last nights game in Springfield. It was bad. The worst they’ve played all year. They couldn’t get ANYTHING started offensively. Bernier looked pretty good minus that 57 second melt down. The monarchs booster club was there so after wards all the other Monarchs fans went over to there section to sulk with them.
