Ersponge Squarepants!

Good Call, Quick is a better pick against Detroit…now lets get Ersberg a win for once!
[Reply]
Perfect time to bring in Ersie and give Quickie a break. Should be a good challenge since the Rangers are playing fairly well.
[Reply]
Looking forward to Ersberg to stepping up and getting a game under his belt
[Reply]
Personally I’d rather see Quick vs the Rangers and Berg vs the Wings.
[Reply]
This is the right call IMHO. Quick needs the rest for D-town. I think he’ll do well, but I think we’re going to have to score a few early. We do that to take a little pressure of Ersy and we’ll be good to go.
[Reply]
I’m excited to see Ersberg play. He looked pretty sharp in the practices I caught.
I agree with Jeff though. With the way the Rangers are playing, and since there isn’t much travel to Manhattan, give Quick one more game and let Ersberg take on the struggling Wings.
[Reply]
Pretty much a no-brainer. You start you #1 against the conference rival and your backup against the non-conference opponent.
[Reply]
I think it’s better to give Quick the Wings. They are a team we see a number of times every year and a win in Detroit is a big confidence boost. We only see the Rangers once maybe twice a year.
[Reply]
Quick should start against a western conference opponet. Those games are more meaningfull.
[Reply]
not only are they more meaningful but if we happen to be in a tie breaker situation with the wings it could mean either a better playoff position or entry into the playoffs with the 8th seed. good call but i dont like our chances against the rangers as much with the iceberg in net. hopefully he proves me wrong and we go 5-1 with a 3-0 road trip.
[Reply]
I like the move, I was expecting Ersberg to start one of those games.
[Reply]
As much as i would love to see the kings win both games, it is probably unlikely. I would’ve rather seen quick in NY giving the team a better chance to win. Instead, Quick will play with a tired team in Detroit and probably lose the game…
:) Ah well, lets hope for the best. So far this season, except the first game, it has been A1 :)
[Reply]
I believe this is the right choice. Quick should play the majority of games within the conference. And since these are brutal back to back road games. Assuming they fly out of NY after the game, which still means arriving in Detroit probably 1-2AM then checking into hotel. Which goalie would you want playing behind a tired team?
[Reply]
Cover me, I’m going in!
[Reply]
Ersberg vs top of the NHL Rangers and Quick vs 20th in NHL Wings? Ok guess I’ll have to trust Murray on this. He knows better than I do.
[Reply]
I hope the goalie change doesn’t stop the team’s momentum.
[Reply]
i like the decision…
but…i will say this…
the rangers put up 7 vs. the maple leafs tonight…ok…ok…yes, yes…it was toronto…
but it’s somewhat a ballsy move by t.m. by saying to the rangers and torts…who are also to a fast start at 5-1…”go ahead…and hit me with yr best shot…!!!”….
i guess torts and avery have made nicey nice…aves had 2 tonight and gabby is flying high with 5 goals and 9 points…
all i’m saying is that it’s a big first game for ersberg…going against a similar designed team in the rangers might be a lofty task…i’m sure ersberg…and the kings defense…will be up for the challenge to stand by their ers…
[Reply]
Ersberg was the best goalie had during the in the three year period before Quick came up. Always like watching Ersberg in net. Have a good game Erik.
[Reply]
its still the right call
[Reply]
You have to start Quick vs Detroit. Better that he see them as often as possible (tired team or not), because a 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs could definitely mean the Wings in the first round. They may be down now, but does anyone really expect them to stay 20th in the league? They may not be as good as in the past, but they haven’t fallen off a cliff.
