On the third-period penalty killing…
MURRAY: “There were some big blocks on the PK out there again. That’s the desperation that you have to show when you’ve got a group of guys like they can throw out there. It’s incredible, the talent that St. Louis has on the power play, but (good penalty killing) requires everyone. It requires the goaltender and I thought Quicker was real good there tonight with a couple huge stops, again the blocking of some of those point shots. There’s that desperation that is very contagious, and hopefully we can just build on this.’’
On the blocked shots on the penalty kill…
MURRAY: “That’s something that we talked about after the game the other night against Minnesota, with the play that happened early in the third period. Then other people started to do it right from the very start tonight. That’s what it takes. You’ve got big shooters in the game today. You’ve got these long, composite sticks and boy, they launch it. You’ve got to sacrifice yourself to get in those shot lanes, because with the traffic in front of the net, it’s very hard for goalies to find all those. So blocking it up top is what we need.’’
