Monday practice update

Wayne Simmonds, according to Terry Murray, got a “therapy day” today. For those not already well versed, “therapy day” is generally coach-speak for “he’s nursing something minor and I don’t want to say what it is.” Simmonds is expected to play tomorrow, and the fact that Murray didn’t move any other forwards around in practice today is an indication that Simmonds is probably OK.

Dustin Brown returned to practice today, and while he was gone from the locker room by the time reporters were allowed in — probably getting therapy on that, um, muscle — Murray said that Brown was fine and would play today.

Still no decision on whether Alec Martinez or Peter Harrold will play tomorrow. Murray said he wanted Harrold to practice at defense today, but instead needed him at forward because of Simmonds’ absence.

More notes and quotes to follow, including some thoughts about Jonathan Quick’s first game and how to deal with the Sharks…
